We had our local pastors' meeting yesterday. Four of them have had quite the funeral season, with 3-4 each in the last 2-3 weeks. One of these brothers was just freshly ordained and is especially exhausted by the grief. Also at the meeting, we were blessed to watch the John Kleinig DVD I received from Doxology (the only way for a pastor to get one of these is to attend the program... so what are you waiting for, dear brother pastor?) He spoke of not only praying for the people, but speaking a blessing to them. Usually at the end of our meeting, the local pastor is asked to pray for the brothers. Yesterday they asked that I give a blessing. I now pass on to you a blessing similar to what I gave them (inspired by Psalm 23):The Lord, who raised from the dead our Great Shepherd, be with and strengthen you as you walk with Him through the valley of the shadow of death.
Dear brother pastor, dear fellow Christian, whatever you are going through, the Father will see you through it. You will not perish, but have everlasting life, for He has given you His Son and you have been born of water and the Spirit.
